The latest news from Central West Rugby Union

Due to the ongoing Covid 19 issue and uncertainty regarding restrictions that will be placed upon Community sport, the Board of the Central West Rugby Union have elected to abandon the season. The CWRU take the issue of player safety and welfare very seriously and feel this decision reflects this.

We thank the countless number of volunteers and players who have worked so hard to create the season that we were able to have.

The latest news from Central West Rugby Union

The CWRU Board has met and decided on the following path forward. It was very important that we were able to provide certainty where possible. The following outcomes have been decided;

The Oilsplus Fuel and Oils South West Grand Final and Westfund Health Insurance South West Grand Final will continue this weekend in Cootamundra.

The New Holland Agriculture Grand Finals and Westfund North Grand Final this Saturday in Parkes have been rescheduled to Saturday 21st August.

If the lockdown is extended we will endeavour to play the Grand Finals on Saturday 28th August. Clubs will be consulted.

The Blowes Clothing Cup Finals have been suspended for this weekend and a new Finals structure has been put in place.

Saturday 21st August - 1 v 4 (all grades) at Cowra Rugby Club. The winners to go straight through to the Grand Final.

Sunday 22nd August - 2 v 3 (all grades) at Orange Emus. The winners to go straight through to the Grand Final.

The highest placed winner will host the Grand Final.

If the lockdown is extended, the Blowes Cup Grand Finals will take place in Cowra with 1 v 2 in all grades on Saturday 28th August, 2021.

We share the frustration of this situation with our Rugby Community and hope that we can get back to playing our game as soon as possible. Please stay safe.
