The Dubbo Kangaroos are still alive in every grade after a hugely successful first weekend of finals in the Blowes Clothing Cup.

As well as the first grade side winning over Mudgee at home the second grade Roos did the same.

Mudgee Wombats coach Neil McDonald has labelled the Dubbo Kangaroos as serious contenders in this season's Blowes Clothing Cup title after witnessing the defending premiers run rampant against his side at No. 1 Oval on Sunday.

The Wombats travelled to No. 1 Oval and were right in the elimination semi-final contest for the first hour but a number of uncharacteristic errors and some huge hits were the hallmark of the game for much of it.

Dubbo Kangaroos' first grade side will not be the only team in action this weekend, with the club looking to progress deeper into the 2015 season in all four grades of the Blowes Clothing Cup.

The Roos face Mudgee in the top grade elimination final, but prior to that match at No.1 Oval on Sunday they will also face the Wombats in the second grade elimination final at the same venue.

Mudgee has seven days to come up with a plan to beat the Dubbo Kangaroos after they were humbled 34-24 by the defending Blowes Cup champions on Saturday.

The bonus point gained by the Wombats in the loss ensured they qualified for their first finals series since rejoining the competition two years ago, but they now face the task of meeting the Roos again in a sudden-death minor semi-final at No.1 Oval

Dubbo Kangaroos' old boys club, the Roo Teds, may be disbanding but they will continue to play a role in the game after making a donation to the local junior club.

A lack of members has forced the club to shut down, but they emptied their bank account recently and this week presented a cheque for $1906.64 to juniors president Tony Holman and vice-president Mark O'Donnell.

Finals may be guaranteed for the Dubbo Kangaroos but that in no way means they are taking the final round of the Blowes Clothing Cup lightly.

The defending premiers confirmed a place in the post-season when they defeated Cowra 38-15 last weekend and on Saturday they travel to Mudgee to take on the Wombats.

The Dubbo Kangaroos proved once again they were not out of the 2015 Blowes Clothing Cup race on Saturday, sealing their place in the finals on the back of a 38-15 win over the Cowra Eagles.

The 23-point margin may have looked like a comfortable result but for 60 minutes it was an even and extremely hard-fought contest.

With only two weeks left in the regular season of the Blowes Clothing Cup, it hasn't become any clearer which sides will fill the final two places of the competition's top five.

Mudgee and Dubbo have heaped the pressure on Cowra who have had to deal with a tough second half of the year draw which included away trips to Orange City's Pride Park, the Bulldogs' Ashwood Park and Mudgee's Jubilee Oval.
