Finals may be guaranteed for the Dubbo Kangaroos but that in no way means they are taking the final round of the Blowes Clothing Cup lightly.

The defending premiers confirmed a place in the post-season when they defeated Cowra 38-15 last weekend and on Saturday they travel to Mudgee to take on the Wombats.

This Saturday the Black Dog Ride comes to Victoria Park. 120 riders from across New South Wales will arrive at Roo Park after the Colts match.

The Ride, which is raising funds and awareness for Lifeline and Mental Health First Aid will finish at Uluru (an 8000 kilometre return trip for some).

Locals can support the fundraising efforts of the riders at No 1 Oval during the day or after the game, join them at the Commercial Hotel for the charity auction of special guernseys worn by the players against Cowra.

Since the inaugural event in 2009, the Black Dog Ride has raised $1.8 million.

Forbes Platypi captain-coach Heamani Lavaka has predicted Dubbo Kangaroos can create some problems for their higher-rated Blowes Clothing Cup rivals after watching the defenders rack up an 80-0 scoreline against his side at No.1 Oval on Saturday.

While the visitors were short on personnel, the Roos were clinical through the early stages of the match before ultimately piling on 12 tries as they moved into fourth place on the ladder.
